In the bygone days of the sail ships, wine provided a safe drink for long voyages. Dan Odfjell, a norwegian “armador” (shipowner), perpetuates this legacy by making wines to sail from Chile across the seven seas.
Odfjell Armador Cabernet Sauvignon
Odfjell, Armador, 750 ml
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Viña Odfjell, Maipo Valley
Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage: 2011
Oenologist: Arnaud Hereu
Pairing: This Cabernet Sauvignon loves grilled dishes, as the nature of the meat mirrors the bitter edge of the tannin in the wine. Serve at 16-18°C.
Tasting notes:
Colour: Attractive ruby colour with hints of violets.
Aromas: An important feature of this vintage are the distinctive aromas displaying fresh red fruit such as stawberries and plums, as well as aromas of liquorice, anis and a touch of vanilla, chocolat and champignon.
Palate: Perfectly balanced with ripe, fresh tannins and a long refreshing finish.
