Erasmo is an estate bottled, dry farmed wine produced from a single vineyard on the ancient estate of la Reserva de Caliboro. It is named after an elderly person born on the estate, who shared with Francesco Marone Cinzano the local grape growing wisdom and helped him to prepare the soil and plant the vines that were specially imported from Europe for this purpose. High density of plants, lack of irrigation, lots of care to each vine yield concentrated and healthy grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot with thick skins, rich in deep colour and tannins. This most traditional of blends acquires a unique character thanks to the aromas of boldos, peumos, wild roses and other native plants that thrive on the riverbanks surrounding the vineyard. Aging of 12 month in French oak and a further year in bottle complete the production cycle of this handcrafted, unfiltered red wine from the Maule Valley, conceived and realized with the friendship and consultancy of Maurizio Castelli.
