Tasting notes:

Colour: Intense dark red in colour.

Aromas: Its scent is reminiscent of forest fruits and wild cherries, with notes of complex spices and delicate toasting, fruit preserves and cherry bonbons.

Palate: This wine enters the mouth broadly, showing off its great body and voluptuous density, while at the same time refreshing with a balanced acidity. Its long finish is smooth, with elegance and long persistence. It has great balance and strength and, at the same time, a delicate finesse.

Category:

This wine represents a whole new dimension for Carménère, the long-lost grape variety that recently resurfaced in Chile after being presumed extinct in Bordeaux, its original home. In Chile, winemakers consider it the countrys ‘signature’ variety and call it the ‘Jurassic Park’ grape that returned from the past. Montes winemaking team was pioneer on the Chilean wine scene when created this super-premium wine under the umbrella of the Montes Alpha range, and icons Montes Alpha M and Montes Folly. Montes also led the way to quality by planting vineyards on steep hillsides. But we also know when to wait.
