This Aquitania Reserve Carménère wine has an intense deep purple red color. On the nose ripe red fruits, toffee and soft hints of pepper which are unique to Carménère. This blends perfectly with the toasted aromas from their aging in French oak barrels. The palate is well structured, with ripe and soft tannins with an elegant and long finish. This Carménère wine comes from vineyards planted ungrafted in 1993 which have been producing 6 tonnes per hectare in the Maipo Valley.
