The Tamaya Goat line is a happy and entertaining line of fine wines that mirror the joy of the mountain goats running free among the lofty peaks above the Limarí Valley. The Limarí Valley, which is well known for its clear skies, completely uncontaminated air and a landscape of varied nuances, is no doubt one of the great prides of the 4th Region of Coquimbo. Viña Tamaya decided to take advantage of these attributes and settled in the region to enjoy all of its unique characteristics. At the same time close to the sea, the Andes Mountains and the desert, with an ideal climate for growing vines, Viña Tamaya enjoys the perfect balance of varieties, quality and character in its terroir. Regarding the winemaking process of Tamaya the first concern is to maintain a production line of the highest quality. Therefore, every step is completely supervised and the winemaking team work with the best materials. The company produces their own grapes, harvest them by hand and transport them in small containers to the winery. Works like pruning, foliage management and bunch load are done by hand. The entire vineyard is drip irrigated and the selection of all the grapes is made by a grape sorting vibrating table. The wines are aged in oak barrels of different characteristics and sizes (400, 300 and 225 liters). We use mainly French (90%) and partly American oak (10%). Due to the excellent phytosanitary conditions of the Limarí Valley, there is only a minimal need to apply herbicides, pesticides and fungicides, therefore the cultivation is almost organic.
